We start our first adventure and leave Uncastillo by the bridge of the Jews. Throughout the day we will experience magnificent views of the Pyrenees, take in the sights of the Castle of Sibirana and bathe our feet in the Arba river crossing.
We will make descents of up to 800m with some technical sections but not too difficult, see the Well of Pigalo, a natural pool, and depending on the time of the year, we can cool off in its fresh water. See the impressive Sibirana Towers which once lay through this valley. Just behind we can also see the remains of the Romanesque hermitage of Santa Quiteria.
Finally, we will reach the Sierra de Uncastillo where we will share space with windmills and make our way back to our hotel after we pass through Chaparro de Anas, an impressive oak tree over 500 years old and the Anas reservoir.
Day 3: Stage 2: Uncastillo to Murillo el Fruto via Bardenas
Total of stage 49 km and 600 m of positive height gain.
Our second stage provides us with some technical sections through ravines and fields of oaks. We also ride through forest tracks and ride along the crest of some low mountains which provide rewarding views.
After descending through pine forests, we arrive at Castiliscar a selection of bars welcome you to have a drink of choice and stock up on water, ready to start the second part of the stage, which is easier and flatter.
The second half takes in views of water fowl, and depending on the time of year, Bardenas canal, as well as the Yesa Resevoir.
After crossing the impressive Aragon river, we make our way to our second hotel stay in Murillo El Fruto.
Day 4: Stage 3: Natural Park of Bardenas Reales
Total of the stage 45.5 km and 350 m of positive height gain.
On stage 3 we are transported to the beautiful and interesting Natural Park of Bardenas Reales. Where we will take in some sights of some historical and legendary castles, including the Castle of Penaflor which, like every castle, has its own legend, in this case, the one of Doña Blanca. Also one of the highlights of this stage is to visit what is undoubtedly the most iconic element of Bardenas: the Castilleterra (earth castle).
We cycle through ravines and reach a height of 500M, providing great views of the surrounding landscape and - it is very likely that in this area we see the fox of Eguarás, a wild animal that has a habit of eating the leftovers of our food!
Day 5: Stage 4: Again we go to Bardenas Reales.
Total stage 55.5 km and 370 m of positive height gain
Today, we experience a diverse landscape which takes in sights of the Aragon river, a 12th century monastery which deserves a stop for some pictures. We ride through some vineyards and take in the fresh smell of pine forests, as well as getting a glimse of the Badlands!
Experience the magnificent views we will have of the cliffs of Pisquerra, El Rallón and La Ralla. For sure, we can see colonies of Griffon Vultures and, with a bit of luck, some Egyptian Vulture and even some Golden Eeagle. Some small binoculars can be very useful today.
Day 6: Departures
