Ride Itinerary & Useful Info

Day 1 - Arrival

Your flight from the UK will take approx. 4 hours.  After a short 15-20 minute transfer from the airport, you will arrive at the Hotel which is situated within the stunning resort of Costa Teguise.

The rest of the day is yours to meet other ladies in the group and get to know one another.  Take a swim, relax by the pool, go to the gym or explore a bit of Costa Teguise – the day is yours!

A table is reserved for you in the restaurant, where you will join the other ladies for your evening meal. Early evening your bike will be delivered to your hotel and fitted, ready for the following day’s ride.

Day 2

Day 2

Ali will meet you all for a Welcome Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.  This a chance to introduce yourselves and for Ali to talk about the format for the week.

Although we have a ride schedule in place, this is not set in stone.  This is flexible and can be adapted to meet the needs of the group. We want you to get the most out of your holiday with us.

We will commence the San Bartolome Circular ride after breakfast.  (On-Bike Statistics: 69.8 (Km), 890 (M) elevation)

This is one of the best circular rides on the island, which takes in the spectacular views of the famous La Geria wine region, which is littered with small black volcanic craters filled with grape vines. On our return leg we ride through the amazing Timanfaya national park which is surrounded by red volcanic rock and you may even catch a glimpse of the camels taking tourists up the mountain.

This circular ride starts with a steady climb out of Costa Teguise before reaching San Bartolome, a small Canarian village. We then follow the secondary road to La Geria.  The scenery is awesome and mostly downhill gradient, so you will get a chance to get some speed up. Be aware though, the return leg through the national park is a long steady climb for approx. 4.5k but has rewarding views.

As we leave the national park, we make our way back to Bartolome which from there is a descent back down to your hotel. A great ride with magnificent views.

A table is reserved for you in the restaurant, where you will join the other ladies for your evening meal.

Day 3

Today’s ride is the Spectacular Temisa Valley (On-Bike Statistics: 73.1 (Km), 1,275 (M) elevation)

We head out of Costa Teguise towards Teseguite, a small white washed village. After around 15 kilometres we reach the pretty town of Los Valles which delivers a nice steady climb of around 7 kilometres.  This is where the wind farm is located at the top- which provides some spectacular views of the island.

We are rewarded with a nice descent that provides a thrilling section  - with several tight hairpin bends which then takes us into the beautiful Haria, which is lined with lush green palm trees and views of the distant volcanic mountains ahead. We take the Mirador del Rio road giving us magnificent views of mount Corona and take an alternative rout back towards Haria.

The last section of the ride is, we believe the most enjoyable, as we take the famous descent through the valley of Temisa which takes us via a tight set of hairpin bends to reach the pretty hamlet of Tabayesco, where you can see the coast. The descent is amazing and the area is greener than the rest of the island, providing an almost tropical environment. We finally head along the coast back to Costa Teguise.

A table is reserved for you in the restaurant, where you will join the other ladies for your evening meal.

Day 4

Today’s ride takes us to Timanfaya Fire Mountain (On-Bike Statistics:  107 (Km), 1,121 (M) elevation)

You will ride through the heart of this volcanic island, Timanfaya National Park. Here you will ride close to the fire mountain and if you’re lucky, see the tourists being taking up the mountain on the local camels.

You will be amazed at the contrast this island can deliver, from volcanic landscape to lush green towns with white washed houses and green palm trees. This is a tough ride but very rewarding with varying terrain, not major climbs but steady long climbs.

Day 5

Today’s ride takes us to Mirador del Norte. (On-Bike Statistics: 75 (Km), 1,027 (M) elevation)

Mirador is the furthest point of the northern edge of the island. So why do cyclists ride all the way there? Well, once you see the views from Mirador del Rio of the neighbouring island of La Garacia, you will understand why so many riders visit this part of the island. Mirador has a great little cafe with panoramic views of the coast and La Garacia which are breathtaking.

The ride to Mirador passes through Haria, which is a beautiful town situated within the mountains and surrounded by palm trees. The ride provides some short but challenging climbs up to Haria, passing by the huge wind turbines before passing the observatory and an opportunity to fly down the hairpin bends towards Haria.

A table is reserved for you in the restaurant, where you will join the other ladies for your evening meal.

Day 6

Our final ride takes us to La Geria (On-Bike Statistics: 107 (Km), 1,250 (M) elevation)

Take in some of the best sights on the island, including the amazing La Geria wine region which is scattered with small black craters filled with green vines. We also ride through probably the best surface on the island from El Golfo to Los Hervideros, with magnificent views as we ride along the coast from El Golfo before heading back in land.

A table is reserved for you in the restaurant, where you will join the other ladies for your evening meal.

Day 7

After a great week of cycling and awesome climbing, you will be returning home with fantastic memories, renewed excitement and motivation to achieve your next cycling goals.

Your private taxi will collect you from your hotel and you will be taken to Lanzarote Airport.

Hopefully, we’ll see you again soon!
