4 nights, Cambrils Park, Costa Daurada, 9th March 2017


An Exclusive in the UK to Mollydoo. Lovers of cycling have an unmissable date on the 9th March in Cambrils. Melcior Mauri, ex professional cyclist, winner of the 1991 Vuelta and Miguel Indurain, 5 x winner of the Tour de France, double winner of the Giro and 2nd to Melcior in the ’91 Vuelta, will be hosting the 3rd Melcior Mauri road cycle camp in the Costa Daurada. Aimed at all lovers of cycling, at whatever level, who wish to live a pure cycling experience in an unforgettable environment.

The chosen location is Cambrils on the Costa Daurada in Catalonia, from where the different routes and activities will start. An idyllic location for cycling with the spectacular regions of the Priorat, Montsant Natural Park and the Prades Mountains as the main stars of the show; with around 2,000Km of traffic free secondary roads, a temperate Mediterranean climate and incredible landscapes.

Thursday 9th March 2017, "Arrivals"

Depending on your flight departure airport and arrival time, you will arrive into Barcelona airport on the Thursday and be transferred via private taxi to Cambrils Park. After check-in, you can enjoy the many facilities this resort has to offer and also you will be greeted and have your bikes set up in readiness for your first ride on Friday.

La Mediterrània White houses provide a lovely mediterranean atmosphere.  Set in the surroundings of a typical fishing village, with traditional features such as a beach, lighthouse and market etc

La Mediterrània has 4 types of apartments of various sizes, distributed on ground floor and first floor.  All apartments include en suite bedrooms (with a bathroom and plasma TV in each bedroom), a furnished terrace, and are fully-equipped to meet all your needs, providing maximum comfort for your stay.


This resort is really focused on the cyclist and this is what this place is all about. They have a special area and buildings with bike workshop and a zone to wash your bike. For larger groups we can even organise your own very special zone, subject to availability. All bikes are stored and secured with 24 hour security.

There are 4 swimming pools around the resort both for adults and children each with their very own theme. There is also a Spa, fitness centre, and sports zone, including football pitches, tennis courts, basket ball and a small golf course.

There is a great selection of places to eat and drink within the resort; offering menus that are designed by sports nutritionist , there is also a sports buffet available so you can fuel up ready for your ride.

Friday 10th March, "The Priorat"

The Route:

The Priorat is a county of some 500Km2 and has a population of 8,000 spread throughout 22 parishes. The capital – Falset – is home to,3,000 of those, which gives you an idea of how little traffic there is in the rest of the county. You’ll be pedaling through vineyards and olive groves with an endless supply of small mountain climbs. A route where time seems to have stood still.

Saturday 11th March, "The Prades Mountains"

The Route:

The Prades Mountains : With La Mussara as the star – a 10.2Km Cat 2 climb with an average gradient of 6% that leads you into the highest zones of the Costa Daurada; oscillating between 700 and ,1,000m and cycling through forest and along ridgelines with incredible views.

Sunday 12th March, "The Montsant"

The Route:

The Montsant : A limestone mountain at the heart of the Priorat county, visible from tens of kilometres away and with spectacular rock formations. Not the highest mountain, but surrounded by incredible roads and a route that will remain inscribed on your memory for years to come.

Ride with a Legend, "Miguel Indurain"

Miguel Indurain Larraya (Villava, Navarra, July 16, 1964) is a Spanish ex-professional cyclist and raced between 1985 and 1996.

He won the Tour de France for five consecutive years (1991-1995) and the Giro d'Italia on two consecutive occasions (1992 and 1993). He was also world time trial champion (1995), Olympic time trial champion (1996) and holder of the hour record (1994) for two months.

He also won several stage races and one-day classics, including the Volta a Catalunya (1988, 1991 and 1992), the Paris-Nice (1989 and 1990), the Clasica San Sebastian (1990) Championship of Spain (1992) and the Dauphiné Libéré (1995 and 1996). He was outstanding in the time trial stages but simultaneously being one of the best climbers in the cycling panorama.

He is considered one of the best cyclists in history (along with Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault, Jacques Anquetil and Fausto Coppi) and the eighth best in the history of the Tour de France decided by a jury of five French specialists and selected by the organisation of the Tour itself.

Miguel Indurain, credited as the best Spanish cyclist of all time and one of the best athletes in the country's history. 

Ride with a Legend, "Melcior Mauri Prat"

Melcior Mauri Prat (born 8 April 1966 in Vic) is a Spanish retired cyclist who won the 1991 Vuelta a España. He has also won numerous other small stage races, mainly due to his abilities as a time triallist, and is a former World silver medallist in this discipline. In November 2007 he won the second edition of the Titan Desert mountain bike 5 stage race over 293 km in Morocco.


Monday 13th, "Departures"

All good things come to an end and after an amazing cycling experience riding with Tour de France Legends and exploring the beautiful area of Cambrils, we have say goodbye! Depending on your chosen flight, we will transport you to the airport in readiness for your short flight back to the UK.
